Season 3 of Battlefield 6 is set to launch this week, bringing a host of new content including a remastered classic map and three returning weapons. Players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC can expect the update to go live on May 12, 2026 at 1pm BST in the UK.
Battlefield 6 Season 3 Release Time and Pre-Load
The Season 3 update will unlock at 1pm BST on May 12, 2026. However, players can pre-load the update files starting at 10am BST on the same day, giving them a three-hour window to download the patch before it goes live. The exact file size has not been disclosed, but it is expected to be manageable for most internet connections. These timings apply uniformly across all platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
What's New in Battlefield 6 Season 3?
The highlight of Season 3 is the new map, Railway to Golmud, a remake of the iconic Golmud Railway from Battlefield 4. This map is now the largest in Battlefield 6, featuring expanded aerial space and refined layout to suit the current gameplay mechanics. The central train objective now moves toward the enemy base when captured, adding strategic depth. The map supports all-out warfare with ground and air vehicles alongside infantry combat.
Another map, Cairo Bazaar, will be introduced in a mid-season update later in the season.
New Weapons
Three classic weapons return at the start of the season:
- M16A4 - Assault Rifle
- L115 - Sniper Rifle
- RPK-74M - Light Machine Gun
Additionally, a new Battle Pass will be available, along with new modes for the REDSEC faction. For a complete list of changes, players can refer to the official Battlefield 6 blog for the full patch notes.
