Valve's Steam Machine, one of the most anticipated hardware launches of the year, may finally have a narrowed release window. According to new evidence uncovered by Reddit user wayTooManyBugs, the device could arrive within the next few weeks, possibly before June ends.
FCC Listings Hint at Imminent Launch
The Reddit user dug through the Canadian Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website and found several listings for both the Steam Controller and the Steam Machine. While most product listings were added in November 2025 after the initial announcement, the user manual dates are key. The Steam Controller's manual was posted on May 20, 2026, shortly after its launch. For the Steam Machine, the manual is not yet available but carries a date of June 29, 2026. Additionally, the Steam Frame is listed with a manual date of June 18, 2029.
The Reddit user hypothesized that if Valve follows a similar pattern, the Steam Machine and Steam Frame could release together around June 17, or the Machine might launch after the Frame around June 27. Some Reddit comments hailed this as solid evidence, with one calling it "good stuff" and another administering "hopium." However, others noted that June 29 also marks the end of a six-month confidentiality agreement between Valve and the FCC, suggesting Valve could release before that date or extend the agreement.
Official Statements and Pricing Concerns
Valve's last official communication indicated a "this summer" release for both the Steam Machine and Steam Frame, a delay from the earlier "first half of 2026" target. The ongoing shortage of computer components due to the AI bubble has impacted pricing, with estimates placing the Steam Machine between $1,300 and $1,500, especially given recent Steam Deck price hikes.
With luck, official details on price and release date may emerge in the coming weeks. The gaming community eagerly awaits Valve's next move.
