Social Media Expert Reveals iPhone Camera Settings Used by Top Influencers
For countless individuals, social media platforms serve as vibrant digital spaces to share life's moments with friends and family while engaging with beloved creators. For others, these platforms have evolved into lucrative careers, transforming personal expression into professional enterprise. If you're aiming to elevate your social media presence and achieve a polished, professional aesthetic, investing time in refining your content is essential. However, the journey can seem daunting initially, with numerous technical aspects to master.
The Professional Behind the Scenes
Fortunately, industry experts are readily sharing their knowledge to guide aspiring creators. One such authority is Cissy Jones, the Social Media Manager at renowned clothing brand Pretty Little Thing, where she has dedicated five years to the social content team. Jones has also disclosed her previous role in assisting influencer Molly-Mae Hague, who formerly served as content director for the brand, in crafting compelling social media material.
Throughout her tenure, Jones has developed and relied on key strategies to produce flawless photos and videos for various influencers and the company's official accounts. In a recent video on her personal TikTok account, @cissyjonestwopoin, she detailed how she ensures top-tier content for influencers and brands, emphasizing that optimal results hinge on precise camera configurations.
"A little help for anyone who doesn’t know what camera settings to have, this is the best! (Personally what I have found and learnt anyway!)" Jones captioned her informative post.
Essential Camera Settings for Stunning Content
Jones, who has created content and photographed for personalities like Molly-Mae, Madison Bailey, and Kehlani, as well as brands including Shein and Pretty Little Thing, advises adjusting specific camera settings before commencing any shoot. For video recording, she recommends selecting "4K at 60fps (frames per second)". While 120fps is described as a "dream" for quality, it consumes substantial storage space. Instead, Jones prefers 60fps, subsequently importing footage into the CapCut app to enhance quality as needed.
She cautions: "Be careful you don’t go too high quality on iPhone as sometimes TikTok doesn’t support this (such as the HD button on CapCut, TikTok dislikes this)! If you wonder why your TikToks go blurry when you upload, your quality is likely too high for TikTok unfortunately (IG love any quality and that platform is fine)!"
Advanced Video Techniques and Platform Insights
Jones further explains that in video camera settings, the "PAL formats" button should only be activated if the camera exhibits flickering, typically under intense or spotlight conditions. Conversely, she always enables the 'Enhanced Stabilisation' feature, which significantly reduces shakiness and ensures smoother video capture.
In a follow-up post, Jones shared additional strategies that contributed to the growth of Pretty Little Thing's social media accounts. These include:
- Posting content at optimal times daily to maximize reach and engagement.
- Creating only the type of content you personally would enjoy watching, ensuring authenticity and appeal.
- Avoiding traditional ad-style posts on TikTok unless they promote products available in the TikTok Shop, as such content often fails to engage viewers effectively.
By implementing these expert tips and settings, content creators can significantly enhance their social media output, mirroring the professional standards seen in top influencer campaigns and brand promotions.
