Sky Launches 900Mbps Gigafast Broadband in UK

Sky has launched its fastest broadband package ever, offering speeds of up to 900Mbps. The new Sky Broadband Gigafast is approximately 25 times faster than the average Sky broadband speed of 36Mbps, according to the company.

The package costs £55 per month on an 18-month contract with a £10 activation fee. It is available to both new and existing customers from today. The service is designed for busy households with multiple devices, supporting up to 120 connected devices simultaneously.

Sky is also offering a Speed Guarantee of 600Mbps, meaning customers can claim a month's subscription back if speeds fall below that level. For an additional £5 per month, customers can add Sky Broadband Boost, which guarantees minimum speeds and Wi-Fi coverage in every room.

The Gigafast service uses full-fibre technology, so it is only available in areas with fibre-to-the-property broadband. Sky's Aman Bhatti said the package is aimed at 'WiFi hungry homes' where multiple people are using devices for intensive activities like streaming 4K content and video calls.
