In a funeral notice shared with the Daily Mail, Lucinta's grieving family described her as "bold, open and full of life." In a touching nod to her colourful personality, they requested that attendees wear vibrant clothing to her service.
Her sister, Gabriana Evans, expressed the family's profound loss in an emotional online post. "She was truly full of life, with a light and energy that touched everyone who knew her," Gabriana wrote. "Right now, we are all trying to process this loss and ask for some privacy as we grieve together."
Colleagues' Emotional Farewells
Virgin Australia's Fijian cabin crew posted a series of heartbreaking tributes to their departed colleague. Cabin Manager Lissy Hyde shared a moving message: "As your Cabin Manager, I come back to the place where it all happened. I won't be able to look after you anymore on our flights."
Hyde continued, "I ask you to look after us from above. Fly with us my girl, beat us to every destination so we know you're there. You are loved, and we will continue to live life as bright and loud as you." She added wistfully, "Wish I was on this trip with her to keep her safe."
Another flight attendant reflected on the close-knit nature of the aviation community, saying, "She will be incredibly missed. Losing crew is like losing family." Organiser Luisa Ledua explained that a portion of the funds would be used "in Lucinta's memory - through road safety advocacy or a memorial plaque" at the accident location, with the hope of "raising awareness and helping prevent future incidents."
