If your dishes still come out dirty after a dishwasher cycle, you may be making a simple mistake that can be fixed without calling an engineer. According to Bosch, a leading appliance manufacturer, the problem often lies in how you load the dishwasher tablet.
Check the Tablet Tray
Bosch recommends ensuring the detergent dispenser and the tablet-collecting tray are clean. Place the dishwasher tablet flat, not standing upright. If the tray is blocked—for example, by a saucepan handle—the tablet may not dissolve properly, leaving dishes dirty.
Inspect Spray Arms
If the tray is clear, the spray arms might be the issue. The dishwasher relies on spray arms for water distribution. Make sure they rotate freely and check for cracks or damage. If nozzles are blocked by food deposits, detach the spray arms and clean the holes and bearings thoroughly to restore water flow.
Water Pressure and Temperature
Low water pressure or insufficient water filling can prevent the tablet from dissolving. Check that the water connection is not kinked, crushed, or twisted. If the dishwasher isn't heating water properly, use a higher temperature setting to see if the tablet dissolves. Persistent issues with water filling or heating may require an engineer visit, according to Bosch.
