Starbucks Drive-Thru and Petrol Station Construction Starts

Construction has started on a new Starbucks drive-thru and petrol station near Bowburn, County Durham, as part of the Integra 61 development. The £4m roadside project, which received planning permission from Durham County Council, is expected to create around 70 jobs.

Developer and Operator Details

Developer Citrus Durham has secured a deal with EG On The Move (EGOTM), a petrol forecourt and convenience retail group operating over 160 sites in the UK. EGOTM will run the new petrol filling station, a separate convenience store, and the Starbucks drive-thru.

Strategic Location

Integra 61 is located approximately 200 metres from Junction 61 of the A1(M). EGOTM says the site is well positioned for nearby housing and users of the wider road network. The amenities are expected to open later this year.

They will join existing Greggs and Costa Coffee drive-thru units, as well as a site planned for a KFC drive-thru. The development also provides access to 19 Tesla Superchargers that opened last year.

Developer and Operator Comments

David Cullingford, head of development at Citrus, said: "Since its inception, Integra 61 has attracted strong interest from a whole variety of occupiers and investors and our roster of occupiers will be enhanced even further by the addition of this new EGOTM scheme."

Peta Pank, acquisitions manager at EG On The Move, said: "We are delighted that construction has now begun on our development at Integra 61. This represents an excellent opportunity to bring our best-in-class petrol filling station offer to the site, alongside our Starbucks drive-thru."
