Morrisons Probes Security Guard And Pensioner Clash In Neath

Morrisons is investigating an incident at its Neath store after a video emerged showing a pensioner grappling with a security guard before falling to the ground. The footage, captured by shopper Trish Paul, appears to show the guard pushing the elderly man into a shop window, after which both men fall to the floor.

Eyewitnesses said the man, who wished to remain anonymous, was challenged as he left the store with his shopping after the alarms sounded. They claimed he showed his receipt and explained that the alarms had also gone off when he entered. The situation escalated, leading to the physical confrontation.

Store staff intervened after the fall, and the security guard returned inside. A Morrisons spokesperson said: 'We take the safety and security of our colleagues and customers very seriously and our guarding supplier is cooperating with us to investigate this urgently.' The supermarket chain confirmed its investigation is ongoing.
