Emmerdale fans have been left 'floored' after spotting Andrew Scarborough in the ITV period drama Victoria, which they describe as a 'masterpiece'. The 52-year-old actor, best known for playing Graham Foster in the Dales from 2017 until his character's death in 2020, made a surprise return in January during a crossover episode with Coronation Street, revealing he was alive.
Andrew Scarborough's Role in Victoria
In Victoria, Scarborough played Captain Childers, a deranged character obsessed with Queen Victoria (Jenna Coleman). In one memorable scene, Childers stops her carriage, offering to 'rescue her from the German tyrant', leading to his arrest by guards. The series aired from 2016 to 2019 and received glowing reviews, with one Rotten Tomatoes user calling it a 'great show' and another praising Jenna Coleman's performance.
Fan Reactions
Fans took to Facebook after spotting Scarborough in Victoria, with one writing: 'Watching Victoria and look who is in it.' Comments included 'OMG!', 'Didn't recognise him without a red tie', and 'He would have made a good James Bond in his younger days.' Another fan noted: 'Is that Graham?'
Other Roles
Beyond Emmerdale, Scarborough has appeared in Coronation Street as Harvey Reuben (2000-2001), Downton Abbey as Tim Drewe (2013-2015), and the crime series Cold of Silence as Joseph Holhurst in 2023.
Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX, while Victoria is available to stream on ITV.
