Derrick Henry's Scary Practice Collision: Ravens RB Jokes

Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry reportedly endured a frightening incident during Tuesday's practice when he collided with a teammate. According to Jeff Zrebiec, The Athletic's Ravens beat writer, a 'scary moment' unfolded as Henry went down following a 'freak collision' with a defensive lineman while not carrying the ball.

Concerned teammates took a knee as Henry lay on the ground after the brutal hit. Eventually, he got to his feet, briefly left the field, and returned after sitting out a few plays.

Speaking after practice, Henry downplayed the incident: 'Just banged knees. I was fine. I probably laid there too long.' He added humorously, 'The ground felt like a bed for a little while... I saw you all (reporters) looking hot and bored, so I was like, "I need to give them something to tweet and write about."'

Henry has been one of the NFL's most dominant running backs, amassing over 13,000 rushing yards and 122 touchdowns in his career with the Tennessee Titans and Ravens.

Meanwhile, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was absent from the voluntary practice. New head coach Jesse Minter, who replaced John Harbaugh after last season, said, 'Lamar's been one of our leaders of the offseason program, and he had a couple things going on yesterday and today, and I do expect him to be back soon.' Minter added, 'We've had some great conversations. I know when he's going to be back and again, I'll probably leave those between me and Lamar.'

Jackson's attendance at OTAs has been sporadic, drawing criticism. His contract, with two years remaining, remains a topic after the Ravens restructured his deal to create cap space rather than agreeing to an extension before free agency.
