Missouri football star Ahmad Hardy is in stable condition after being shot at a concert in Mississippi, school officials confirmed on Monday. The All-America running back underwent surgery for the gunshot wound later that day.
The Missouri football program released a statement expressing their support for Hardy, describing him as "deeply loved by his teammates, coaches, friends, family and fans." The statement added, "We will continue to stand beside him and his family through this difficult time, offering our love, prayers, strength and support. A timeline for his return to football activities is unknown at this time."
The university indicated that further updates on Hardy's condition will be provided as information becomes available. Details surrounding the shooting have not yet been disclosed.
Hardy, 20, earned first-team Associated Press All-America honors last season and was a finalist for the Doak Walker Award, which recognizes the top running back in college football. He rushed for 1,649 yards last season, ranking second among all Bowl Subdivision players.
Originally from Oma, Mississippi, Hardy began his college career at Louisiana-Monroe before transferring to Missouri ahead of the 2025 season.
