A special rose has been unveiled at the Chelsea Flower Show to commemorate 20 years of The One Show. The bloom, bred by Peter Beales Roses over a decade, was revealed by hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp. A portion of sales will benefit BBC Children In Need.
Celebrity Sightings at Chelsea Flower Show
Stars including Alex Kingston, Vogue Williams, and Jeremy Clarkson were spotted at the press day of the annual event, held at London's Royal Hospital Chelsea. Kingston, who competed in the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing, was photographed with 2004 contestant Bobby Brazier in the Lady Garden Foundation Silent No More Garden, which raises awareness of gynaecological cancers.
Support for Cancer Awareness
Kingston, diagnosed with womb cancer in 2024, and Brazier, who lost his mother Jade Goody to cervical cancer in 2009, were joined by sisters Tamara Beckwith Veroni and Clare van Dam, co-founders of the Lady Garden Foundation, whose mother died of endometrial cancer.
Other notable attendees included Strictly professional Dianne Buswell with partner Joe Sugg and their baby Bowden, presenters Vogue Williams and Gloria Hunniford, The Traitors' Stephen Libby, TV personality Jeremy Clarkson, artist Grayson Perry, and gardening expert Alan Titchmarsh.
Charity Gnome Auction
Queen guitarist Sir Brian May, comedian Bill Bailey, and presenter Dame Floella Benjamin were seen showcasing gnomes they decorated for auction, raising funds for the RHS's Campaign for School Gardening.
The One Show Rose Unveiling
The official unveiling of The One Show rose will air on Monday's programme at 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer. Jones, who has hosted the show for 16 years, said: "The One Show's 20th rose is absolutely beautiful and it's the perfect way to mark the show's milestone birthday, and it's even more special knowing a donation from every sale will go to BBC Children In Need, a charity we're proud to champion."
Kemp added: "This launch of The One Show 20th rose is a brilliant way to kick start the anniversary celebrations. Many of our One Show viewers love gardening and the benefits can be so impactful, so it's wonderful to have that recognised with this special rose."
Ian Limmer, Peter Beales' senior rosarian, commented: "We are incredibly proud to introduce The One Show 20th Rose at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026. This rose represents not only the very best of British rose breeding, but also a meaningful partnership supporting the wonderful work of BBC Children In Need."
