Pringles Minis will make a return to the UK on July 2, after more than 20 years. The brand announced the revival of the bite-sized snack, which was first launched in 2005 but later discontinued due to consistency issues.
Over Four Years of Development
Pringles said they spent over four years perfecting the famous hyperbolic paraboloid curve for the smaller crisp. According to the brand, the smaller the crisp, the trickier it becomes to maintain the iconic shape and texture.
Unlike original Pringles, where most seasoning remains on the top, the new Minis feature seasoning on both sides, ensuring maximum flavour in every crunch. They will be available in Original, Sour Cream & Onion, and BBQ flavours.
Packaging and Availability
Pringles Minis will be sold in six individual 20g multipack bags, designed for easy snacking on the go. Beth Brushett, senior brand activation manager at Pringles, said: "Mini products and bite-sized treats are having such a big cultural moment right now, so it felt like the perfect time to launch Pringles Minis."
She added: "We've spent years perfecting a mini version of our iconic crisp that goes in a bag, making it the perfect addition to lunchboxes across the UK. We can't wait to hear what Pringles fans think."
Previous Attempt in 2005
Mini Pringles were first launched in 2005 with a mini pull-out snack tray, but the crisps were later discontinued as the brand was unable to maintain consistency due to the smaller form. The new version aims to overcome those challenges with improved manufacturing techniques.
