Hannah Ingram-Moore, the 55-year-old daughter of Captain Sir Tom Moore, has been branded a 'grifter' after launching a TikTok storefront selling low-cost items such as ear drops and car sunshades to her 20,000 followers for commission. This comes after she was disgraced by a Charity Commission investigation into her misconduct while managing the Captain Tom Foundation, which raised £39 million for the NHS.
From charity hero to TikTok seller
Ingram-Moore's TikTok profile now features a dedicated 'showcase' tab where followers can purchase discounted goods. Among the items are a £7.79 car windscreen sunshade, a £10.99 dog sprinkler pad, and £18.94 ear drops. Each purchase earns her a commission, according to the Daily Mail. Despite this, she continues to project a luxury image, posting paid promotions for fashion brand OGLmove while strutting through London in designer outfits.
Social media backlash
One sarcastic comment on her promotional video read: 'Peak Captain Tom would love this.' Ingram-Moore 'liked' the comment, apparently missing the irony. The tone-deaf display has drawn widespread criticism online.
Charity foundation closure and bans
The Captain Tom Foundation, now renamed the 1189808 Foundation, is closing down following a Charity Commission investigation that found the family 'repeatedly benefited' and mismanaged the charity. Ingram-Moore and her husband Colin were banned from serving as charity trustees due to a 'pattern of behaviour' regarding personal benefit.
Pool spa controversy and demolition
In 2021, the couple built an unauthorized £200,000 spa complex in the garden of their Grade II-listed home, claiming it was for charity use. The structure, which included a large spa pool, changing facilities, kitchen, and toilet block, sparked public outrage and was demolished in 2024 after legal action. In a March 2025 LBC interview, Ingram-Moore called it a 'large hot tub' and said using the foundation's name was an unintentional mistake.
