Historic Manor House Hits the Market

A Grade II-listed manor house in Hale, dating back to the mid-17th century, is now available for purchase at around £1,500,000. The property, known as The Manor House, boasts a library, heated outdoor pool, stables, and three paddocks, offering a unique blend of history and modern amenities.

Rich History from Vicarage to Farmhouse to Manor

The Manor House originally served as a vicarage called Parsonage House, situated opposite Hale Hall near St Mary's Church. In the 18th century, it was home to Rev William Langford, who added his coat of arms and monogram to the entrance. During the 19th century, the building was repurposed as a farmhouse and known as Manor Farm. According to Historic Liverpool, the Fleetwood-Hesketh family of Meols purchased the Hale Hall estate in 1947 but found the hall too dilapidated to inhabit, so they moved into Parsonage House instead. After renovations and extensions, it became known as the Manor House. Hale Hall was eventually demolished in 1981, leaving only the Manor House standing.

The three-storey house includes a dining room, snug, two kitchens, a utility room, a library, conservatory, living room, gym, shower room, and sauna on the ground floor. Period features remain throughout, including impressive original fireplaces—one of which is listed in its own right. The heart of the home features two adjoining kitchen areas with a vintage cooker.
