Rolf Harris' Bray Mansion Sold for £1.755M After Auction Failure

Rolf Harris' former riverside mansion in Bray, Berkshire, has been sold for £1.755 million after failing to sell at auction earlier in 2026. The property, which was initially listed for £4 million in April 2025, finally changed hands after its reserve price was unmet at auction.

Property Details and Price History

The 6,440-square-foot home sits on the banks of the River Thames and features four bedrooms, a 45-foot living space, a 35-foot master bedroom, studio space, a self-contained annexe, and a boat house. Harris lived there for decades with his wife, sculptor Alwen Hughes, and daughter Bindi Harris.

In March 2026, the property was set for auction by BTG Eddisons with a guide price of £1.95 million, less than half its original asking price. However, it failed to sell as the reserve price was not met. The asking price was then reduced to £1.755 million, and later that month, bidding commenced at £1.4 million, leading to a successful sale.

Documentary and Legacy

The sale coincides with the release of Prime Video's two-part documentary Rolf Harris: Primetime Predator, which examines the crimes of the disgraced Australian entertainer. Harris was jailed in 2014 for five years and nine months for indecent assault, but was released on licence in 2017 after serving three years. He died at the Bray property in May 2023 at age 93.

Local estate agent Brian Warren commented on the property's high renovation costs when it was first listed, saying, "Given the cost of renovation, it's just not cost effective if you have to pay £4 million for the property. They're looking at paying another £1.5 million on top of the price to rebuild it because it's on the river."
