Ford Recalls Nearly 420,000 Vehicles Over Seat Belt Issue
Ford Recalls 420K Vehicles for Seat Belt Problem

Ford is recalling nearly 420,000 vehicles because of a seat belt issue that could result in injury during a crash. The recall, announced on Tuesday, affects certain Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator models from the 2018 through 2022 model years.

Details of the Recall

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that the problem involves seat belts that may lock inadvertently, preventing them from retracting or extending properly. According to the NHTSA, a seat belt that fails to retract or extend could lead to injury in the event of a crash. Additionally, there is a risk of injury if the seat belt retracts too rapidly.

This recall expands on and replaces two previous recalls by Ford. The automaker is aware of two warranty claims and two field reports related to the latest issue, as well as one reported injury.
