Iceland Launches Major Price Campaign
Iceland, the UK high street chain with over 950 stores including 207 Food Warehouse sites, has slashed prices on more than 750 products to £1 or less. The campaign includes over 70 everyday essentials such as tea bags, baked beans, bread, and rice, aiming to help shoppers manage grocery bills amid ongoing food price concerns.
30th Anniversary of £1 Ready Meals
The move also marks 30 years of Iceland's £1 ready meal range, first launched in 1996. Popular meals like Lasagne, Chicken Curry and Rice, and Spaghetti Bolognese were introduced at 99p and now cost just £1.
An Iceland spokesperson said: "We know customers are counting every pound, which is why we're doubling down on value. With 750 products now at £1 or less, shoppers can still pick up everyday essentials, family favourites and complete meals at prices that have become increasingly hard to find anywhere else."
Research Highlights Customer Concerns
The announcement follows Iceland's research showing 69% of people are worried about rising food costs, and 74% want supermarkets to do more to help during the cost of living crisis. The retailer said the campaign is intended to help customers make their money go further.
Vanilla Coca-Cola Returns Exclusively
In addition, Iceland has brought back Vanilla Coca-Cola, which had disappeared from most UK supermarket shelves. An eight-pack of 330ml cans costs £5, and a 24-pack is £12.50. The drink is available exclusively through Iceland stores and online, sparking excitement among shoppers. One customer said: "Best drink ever. Especially bottled." Another added: "It's back!! Finally."
