Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are all planning significant summer transfer moves to strengthen their squads, with a potential £165 million double deal and a £115 million World Cup pair among the targets.
Rafael Leao set for Milan exit, Manchester United interested
AC Milan have agreed to facilitate the exit of Manchester United target Rafael Leao if they receive an offer between £51 million and £60 million for the winger, according to Sky Sport Italia. The 27-year-old Portuguese international, who impressed against Croatia at the World Cup, has made his desire to leave the Italian club clear this summer.
Leao endured an injury-plagued season, managing just 10 goals and three assists in 31 appearances. Milan agreed on the transfer fee range with Leao's representatives during recent discussions, which would allow the club to secure a healthy return on the £42.4 million they paid Lille for his signature in 2019. Leao told Sport TV: "I think I gave Milan everything I could give. It is a club that helped me grow a lot and supported me through difficult moments. I am happy to have left my mark on the club's history. Everyone has their dreams, their challenges, the things they want, the goals they want to achieve. And I also want to take on a new challenge in a new league."
Dermot Mee extends Manchester United stay
Manchester United goalkeeper Dermot Mee has signed a new two-year contract to remain at Old Trafford. The 23-year-old's previous deal expired this week, but he was offered fresh terms. Mee has yet to make a senior appearance for the Red Devils but has played 27 times for the Under-21 side.
Liverpool open to offers for Virgil van Dijk
In a surprising report from TEAMtalk, Liverpool are said to be willing to part ways with captain Virgil van Dijk in the upcoming summer window. The 35-year-old defender, who joined from Southampton for £75 million in January 2018, has one year remaining on his contract. Turkish clubs, including Galatasaray, are monitoring his situation, according to the Mirror. TEAMtalk reports that Liverpool are not actively seeking to sell but remain "open to offers" and no longer consider Van Dijk "untouchable." The club and player "are prepared to evaluate any serious offer on its merits before making a decision." New Reds boss Andoni Iraola is not pushing for the defender's exit.
Bradley Barcola favours Arsenal over Liverpool
Liverpool's pursuit of Bradley Barcola may have suffered a blow, with the player reportedly leaning towards a move to Arsenal. The Daily Mail's Lewis Steele suggests Liverpool are not viewed as an appealing destination this year compared to last when they were Premier League champions. Paris Saint-Germain are determined to keep Barcola, with a rumoured price tag of around £116 million.
Jules Kounde available for £55 million
Liverpool are among clubs contacted by agents seeking to generate interest in Barcelona's Jules Kounde, according to reports. The 27-year-old is also on the radar of Arsenal and Manchester City, while Chelsea maintain a longstanding interest after nearly signing him from Sevilla in 2022. Barcelona have reduced their £70 million valuation, with Kounde now available for £55 million. This could offer Liverpool an opportunity given the uncertainty at right-back.
Arsenal target Aston Villa duo Morgan Rogers and Ezri Konsa
Arsenal's interest in Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers is well-known, but the Gunners also fancy teammate Ezri Konsa. The Telegraph reports Villa are demanding a British record £130 million fee for Rogers, 23, who is also wanted by Chelsea. The Daily Mail details Arsenal's interest in Konsa, with the Gunners believing a deal can be done for around £35 million, though Villa are expected to ask for more for the 28-year-old.
Arsenal withdraw from Jeremy Monga race
Arsenal have pulled out of the race to sign Leicester City teenager Jeremy Monga after Manchester City made progress. City look set to land the 16-year-old for approximately £10 million. Arsenal had a £5 million offer rejected but continued talks. However, new City boss Enzo Maresca, who previously worked with Monga at Leicester, proved decisive in the player's decision.
