Thousands of Virgin Media customers across the United Kingdom are currently facing significant disruptions to their cable television services, with widespread reports of technical faults causing pixelated images and audio issues.
Outage Reports Surge
According to monitoring platform Downdetector, complaints began flooding in shortly after 10:35 am on Thursday, with over 4,000 users reporting problems by 2:30 pm. Affected subscribers described experiencing "pixelated channels" and difficulties with both sound and picture quality, rendering them unable to watch television programmes.
One frustrated user from Bristol commented: "Still pixelated in Bristol too. No channels working. Still saying service unavailable on Virgin Media website. Why do we pay all this money for this!?"
Company Response
Virgin Media has acknowledged the issue and issued a statement via social media platform X, apologising to customers. The company stated: "We apologise to customers who are experiencing issues with their TV services at the moment. Our teams are working as a priority to identify the fault and will restore services to normal as soon as possible."
As of now, no estimated time for resolution has been provided, and customers are advised to check the Virgin Media status page for updates. The outage appears to be affecting multiple regions across the UK, with no specific cause yet identified.
