Blackpool's iconic Pleasure Beach Resort is gearing up for a monumental celebration this weekend as it marks its 130th anniversary. To commemorate this historic milestone, the resort is rolling out a series of exclusive promotions and events designed to thrill visitors throughout March.
Half-Price Tickets and Adrenaline Weekends
Throughout March, guests can take advantage of half-price tickets, priced at just £30. This represents a significant discount, being half the standard on-the-day rate and the lowest priced tickets available on a Saturday all season. This offer is part of the brand-new Adrenaline Weekends, which will run every Saturday and Sunday during the month, providing an extra dose of excitement for thrill-seekers.
New Ride Upgrades and Experiences
Adding to the lineup of deals is ENSŌ, a special seat upgrade that enhances the adrenaline rush on the Icon rollercoaster. Featuring a specially designed twisting seat, ENSŌ transforms the experience on the UK's only double-launch rollercoaster. Previously priced at £15, visitors can enjoy a ride on ENSŌ during March for just £5, making it an affordable upgrade for an unforgettable thrill.
Preview of Record-Breaking Aviktas Ride
This season also marks the first time guests can see the record-breaking new ride, Aviktas, up close. Previously under construction during the park's last open period, visitors can now catch a glimpse of the ride in full motion, with testing underway. The giant ride recently completed its first full 138ft swing when tested last week, following a wave of anticipation earlier in the month after videos showing its pendulum rotating were shared on social media.
Standing at 138ft tall, Aviktas is the tallest ride of its type in the UK and is due to open in spring 2026. An official date is set to be revealed in the coming months, adding to the excitement for future visits.
Special Events and Celebrations
Also on Saturday, March 7, Pleasure Beach will host its first ever Big Coaster Quiz after the park closes. Guests are invited to a high-speed quiz night in Pleasure Beach's Horseshoe Bar from 5pm, with the quiz beginning at 6.30pm, offering a fun and engaging way to cap off a day of thrills.
CEO's Vision for the Season
Amanda Thompson OBE, CEO of Pleasure Beach Resort, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming season. 'This season we are proudly celebrating 130 years of welcoming guests through our gates,' she said. 'With the events and promotions we have lined up, I truly believe this will be an unmissable year for the park. 2026 is a milestone year for us in more ways than one. We're welcoming a new ride, celebrating our 130th birthday, and we've launched a whole host of exciting new offers designed to make it even easier to visit Pleasure Beach Resort. We can't wait to begin such an exciting season. Here's to the next 130 years.'
