Costa Del Croydon, the 'ultimate urban beach escape', is returning to a rooftop in south London for its third summer, running daily from August 7 to August 31. Located on the rooftop of the Centrale shopping centre's multi-storey car park, just a three-minute walk from West Croydon Station, the event is free to access and has attracted over 60,000 visitors over the past two years.
Family-Friendly Daytime Sessions
Two bookable sessions are available each day: 11:30am to 3pm and 3:30pm to 7pm. The family-friendly offer includes a giant sand pit, splash park, life-size chess, mini go-karts, trampolines, and chill-out areas. Street food vans and sweet treat stops will be on hand throughout.
New Adult-Only After-Hours Sessions
New this year is 'The Beach Club', an adult-only session taking place between 5pm and 8pm each Thursday. These after-hours events will feature DJs, live music, and cocktails, with a different theme each evening. Planned themes include garage nights, drag events, pre-carnival dancehall celebrations, sip & paint sessions, and music bingo.
Dominique Stagg, Centrale & Whitgift's Marketing, PR & Events Manager, said: 'We created Costa Del Croydon to give Croydon residents a free summer experience right in the heart of the town centre. Over the last two years it's become a real summer focal point for the community, with families returning time and time again. This year we're excited to introduce The Beach Club nights, creating a new social experience for adults alongside the daytime family offer.'
Booking and Access
While entry is completely free and daily walk-ins are accommodated, organisers recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Pre-bookings will be available via the building's website from July 31.
