Family's grief and search for answers
Beasley's parents, Katrina and Matt Beasley, described their loss as immeasurable. In a statement, they said: "Our adored son Fletcher was our much-loved brother, grandson, partner, friend and colleague, who is deeply loved and cherished by all who knew him. He was at the centre of our close and loving family with siblings Sam and Holly. He was our perfect boy. Fletcher shared a beautiful relationship with his long-term partner Angelina and made the most of life with the people that he loved. Funny, loyal, curious about the world, and always full of warmth, he lived a balanced life, playing sport, running, travelling and having fun. Fletcher was deeply generous, selfless and community minded. His family knows he would have wanted to help others in any way he could."
Fundraiser and repatriation
His father has flown to the UK to bring his son's body home. A fundraiser has been set up by the family, with proceeds going towards supporting others in similar situations. Beasley was a law and business student at Queensland University of Technology.
