The portable restroom was located in the camping area of the annual music event, according to Michigan State Police. The festival, held at Double JJ Ranch, features dozens of DJs and music artists and ran from Thursday through Sunday night.
Michigan State Police confirmed the incident in a statement on X, saying: 'Michigan State Police can confirm that the body of a neonate was found in a portable restroom in the camping area at the Electric Forest festival Sunday morning. The body was discovered by an employee of the restroom vending company during routine maintenance.'
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities stated there is no known threat to the public and no other details, including the baby's age, have been disclosed. The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking for the public's help.
'Investigators are asking for the public's assistance. If you were in the area and observed anything unusual, or if you have information that you believe may be relevant, we encourage you to come forward,' the police statement added. They also urged people to avoid speculation on social media out of respect for the investigation and those affected.
