A Scottish woman who sparked outrage by faking a pregnancy and pretending a doll was her baby has been accused of carrying out a similar deception two years ago. Kira Cousins, 22, from Airdrie, allegedly wore a prosthetic bump, hosted a gender-reveal party, and paraded a plastic Reborn doll as her daughter Bonnie-Leigh.
Now a Facebook friend has claimed Cousins used stolen images of her child in 2023 to fake another pregnancy. The unnamed woman said Cousins sent pictures of her daughter to friends and family, claiming the baby was hers. 'It was my baby. She stole pictures of my child off my Facebook page and passed them off as her own,' the woman told MailOnline.
Another friend said Cousins messaged her in 2023 saying she had a baby girl named Aurora Rae and asked her to be the godmother, sending 15 to 20 photos. The friend later realised all the images were of her own daughter, taken from her Facebook page. 'She's never going to answer me and give me a truthful response anyway,' the woman said.
The latest deception came to light when the baby's 'dad' discovered the six-day-old Bonnie-Leigh was a doll after Cousins's mother found the prop in her bedroom. Cousins then allegedly texted the man claiming the baby had died. In a TikTok statement, Cousins said: 'I was in bed when my mother came into my room and found it to be a doll. Don't for one minute think they let me away with this, they haven't.'
Friend Neave McRobert said suspicions arose when no one heard the 'baby' cry and Cousins refused to let anyone touch her. 'She even went to the extreme of texting him saying, 'Bonnie-Leigh died'. I can't imagine how he must feel,' McRobert said.
