Twin sisters aged 13 nearly lost their lives after being handed a vape laced with the synthetic drug spice, according to their mother. Kay Fores, 37, from Hull, East Yorkshire, said her daughters Scarlett and Olivia Bywood were found unconscious in a local park on April 29. The teenagers had been given what they believed to be a normal vape by girls they knew from 'the other side of town'. Within ten minutes of using the device, both collapsed. Scarlett was foaming at the mouth, while their companions allegedly fled the scene.
Emergency response
The mother's next-door neighbour spotted the stricken girls and called an ambulance, also alerting Kay and her sister. Kay arrived at Hull Royal Infirmary to find both daughters unconscious and on IV drips. Doctors conducted blood tests confirming the vape had been spiked with MDMA and spice. The twins remained unconscious for around six hours before regaining consciousness. They were discharged early the next morning with minor injuries including a cut head and a black eye.
Mother's warning
Kay said: 'If they hadn't been found at the park, they would be dead. They didn't know anything about these vapes, they were just given them and gave it a go.' She described the incident as a 'sick prank' and urged other parents to be aware of the dangers of vaping. 'I want other kids to realise not to touch anybody's vape at all. Because the next person could be dead.' Kay has reported the incident to the police and shared the story on social media to warn others.
