Drug Dealer Jailed After CCTV Catches Him Singing About 'Dirty Cash'
A drug dealer who was caught on his own CCTV footage singing about 'dirty cash' while handling illicit money has been jailed for 15 years. Bertie Payne, 30, coordinated the supply of Class A drugs across east Kent, using a luxury watch business as a cover-up to launder large sums of money.
Operation Details and Evidence
The drug-dealing operation took place between August 2024 and January 2025. Payne led a group of seven men involved in supplying and distributing significant quantities of illegal substances, including 24kg of cocaine, 10kg of ketamine, and 5,000 ecstasy tablets. To conceal his activities, he faked invoices through his watch business, creating a facade of legitimate transactions.
CCTV footage from his office provided damning evidence, showing Payne counting illicit cash and singing the song 'Dirty Cash (Money Talks)'. This footage played a crucial role in the investigation and subsequent prosecution, highlighting the brazen nature of his criminal enterprise.
Sentencing and Implications
Bertie Payne has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in coordinating the drug supply network. The case underscores the sophisticated methods used by criminals to launder money and operate under the guise of legitimate businesses. Authorities have emphasized the importance of such evidence in dismantling organized crime groups and preventing the distribution of harmful substances in communities.
