Barron Trump's 999 Call Saved Woman's Life, Court Hears

Barron Trump's Emergency Intervention in Alleged Assault Case

A British woman has provided dramatic court testimony stating that Barron Trump, the youngest son of former US President Donald Trump, saved her life through his swift emergency response during a transatlantic FaceTime call. The 19-year-old reportedly dialled 999 from the United States after allegedly witnessing his friend being violently attacked by her former partner in real-time.

The Transatlantic Emergency Call

According to evidence presented at Snaresbrook Crown Court in east London, the incident occurred on January 18, 2025, when Barron Trump was speaking to the woman via video call. The court heard that the conversation took a terrifying turn when Barron allegedly saw the woman's ex-boyfriend, 22-year-old former mixed martial arts fighter Matvei Rumiantsev, launching a physical assault.

Prosecutors detailed how Barron immediately contacted British emergency services, telling the operator: "It's really an emergency, please. I got a call from her with a guy beating her up." During the recorded 999 call played to jurors, the emergency operator urged him to provide clearer information, prompting Barron to apologise for his initial response before explaining: "I met her on social media. She's getting really badly beat up and the call was about eight minutes ago, I don't know what could have happened by now."

Police Response and Identification

Metropolitan Police officers were dispatched to the London address following Barron's emergency call. Bodycam footage shown in court revealed the moment officers arrived and questioned the woman, who informed them: "I am friends with Barron Trump, Donald Trump's son." One officer was heard telling a colleague: "So apparently this informant from America is likely to be Donald Trump's son."

With police present, the woman called Barron back, and in further footage played to the court, he described what he had witnessed: "She called me. I picked up the phone expecting a nice hello or something. I just saw a ceiling and could hear screaming. I could see a guy's head on the phone, and then the camera turns to her crying and getting hit." Barron estimated the distressing call lasted between 10 and 15 seconds before disconnecting, which prompted his emergency response.

Allegations and Court Proceedings

The defendant, Matvei Rumiantsev, a Russian-born east London resident, faces multiple serious charges including:

  • Assault causing actual bodily harm
  • Two counts of rape
  • Intentional strangulation
  • Perverting the course of justice

Rumiantsev has denied all charges against him. Prosecutors allege that he flew into a jealous rage over the woman's friendship with Barron Trump, with the January 18 video call allegedly triggering the violent outburst. The court heard detailed allegations that Rumiantsev grabbed the woman by the hair, shoved her to the floor, kicked her in the stomach, and shouted abusive misogynistic slurs.

Defence Challenges and Emotional Testimony

During cross-examination, defence barrister Sasha Wass KC challenged the woman's account, suggesting she had fabricated her claims. Wass asserted that Rumiantsev had only restrained the woman after she behaved "in an angry and violent way" toward him, and directly stated: "You invented this wholly untrue and fabricated account that he raped you on those two occasions – you were never raped."

The woman responded emphatically: "I didn't invent that. That would be completely evil and disgraceful toward people who have been in that situation." She provided emotional testimony about Barron Trump's intervention, telling the court: "He helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment."

Relationship Background and Further Allegations

The court heard that the couple had been in a relationship for approximately six months prior to the alleged incidents. Prosecutors detailed a pattern of alleged abuse, including strangulation during arguments. The woman made further complaints months later, alleging she had been raped twice – once in November 2024 and again just hours before police arrived at Rumiantsev's apartment on January 18, 2025.

Additional allegations include that Rumiantsev attempted to pressure the woman into withdrawing her complaints against him. The trial continues as both prosecution and defence present their cases regarding these serious criminal allegations.
