A cherished middle school teacher from California, who was eagerly anticipating her upcoming wedding, has been tragically shot and killed while enjoying a night out with friends at a bar. Latetia 'Teesh' Bobo, aged 33, was celebrating in the early hours of Saturday morning when a violent gunfight erupted in downtown Oakland, resulting in her death and injuring six other individuals in what authorities describe as a senseless attack.
Details of the Tragic Shooting
Bobo, who taught eighth-grade English language arts at Caliber Beta Academy, was at the EZ Lounge when gunfire broke out approximately at 3:30am. According to police reports, an argument inside the club escalated into shooting, with two handguns recovered—one inside the establishment and another outside. The teacher died at the scene, while a second victim, an unidentified 25-year-old man, later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. Five additional people sustained injuries during the incident.
Several individuals were detained at the bar following the shooting, though no arrests have been formally announced as of yet. Footage from the scene captured patrons frantically scrambling and running from the gunfire, with witnesses describing chaotic scenes of crying and screaming that blocked the entire street.
