Man Found Dead in Geelong Home Days After Hospital Discharge for Assault Injuries
Geelong man found dead after leaving hospital with assault injuries

A homicide investigation is underway in Victoria after a man was discovered deceased in a suburban home, only three days after he was treated in hospital for injuries believed to be from an assault.

Timeline of a Tragedy

The 41-year-old man was first taken to a medical facility on Monday, where he received treatment for what police described as 'assault-related' injuries. However, he subsequently discharged himself from care of his own accord.

Officers from Victoria Police then attended a property on Robin Avenue in Norlane, a northern suburb of Geelong, at approximately 5.30pm on Thursday. It was there they made the grim discovery of the man's body inside the residence.

Police Launch Homicide Probe

The exact circumstances leading to the man's death remain unclear and are now the subject of a major investigation. Homicide detectives have taken charge of the case as they work to piece together the events between his hospital discharge and the discovery of his body.

Authorities have not yet released the man's name, pending formal identification and notification of his next of kin.

Appeal for Public Information

In a bid to uncover the truth, detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly keen to hear from individuals who may have witnessed any relevant incidents, or who possess dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage from the Robin Avenue area or surrounding locations in Norlane between Monday and Thursday.

Police have emphasised that even small details could prove crucial to the investigation. Anyone with information is strongly encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
