Married Music Teacher's Shocking Plan to Run Away with Schoolboy Revealed in Court
In a disturbing case that has rocked a Perth community, a married music teacher allegedly had concrete plans to run away with a schoolboy who impregnated her, it can now be revealed. Sources close to the family confirm her husband was completely blindsided by the baby's true paternity, having spent almost the entire pregnancy believing the child was his.
Systematic Abuse of a Vulnerable Pupil
Naomi Tekea Craig, aged 33, was employed at an Anglican school in Madurah, approximately one hour south of Perth, when she engaged in a prolonged period of sexual abuse against a male pupil. The reprehensible conduct spanned more than a year, commencing when the victim was just 12 years old and only concluding after his 13th birthday in December. Her arrest on child abuse-related charges followed swiftly, occurring mere weeks before she gave birth to a baby on January 8.
On Tuesday, Craig entered a guilty plea to 15 separate offences in the Mandurah Magistrates Court. The charges, read aloud by Magistrate Clare Cullen, paint a harrowing picture of exploitation and betrayal of trust. They include:
- Multiple counts of sexual penetration of a child under 13.
- Sexual penetration of a child over 13 and under 16.
- Additional counts of indecent dealings with a child under 13.
- Possessing child exploitation material.
A Husband Deceived and a Community in Shock
The court proceedings have unveiled the dual life Craig was leading. While systematically abusing the schoolboy, she was simultaneously maintaining a normal marital sex life with her husband. Those close to the family confirmed the husband referred to the unborn child as 'our baby' as late as December, telling one person, 'Our baby is due in two weeks.'
Disturbingly, rumours persist among school students in the Mandurah area that the victim intends to run away with Craig 'once her sentence is up'. This alleged plan underscores the profound manipulation and lasting impact of the abuse.
Profound Impact on the Young Victim
Before the abuse began in October 2024, the boy was described as living an ordinary life, enjoying time with friends and participating in weekend sports. However, friends and observers noted a drastic and concerning shift in his behaviour within months.
'He started talking about sexual things a lot,' one friend revealed. 'He'd say really inappropriate things that he had done.' Another simply stated, 'He became a troublemaker,' noting issues both in and out of school.
This transformation was mirrored online. His social media profiles, once filled with innocent posts about cars, camping, and school pranks, took an abrupt and adult turn. Content began referencing 'older girlfriends' and featured sexually suggestive material. By September 2025, when Craig was five months pregnant, his posts shifted focus again—this time to themes of marriage, fatherhood, and his aspirations as a dad. Alarmingly, just weeks before the birth, he posted that there was 'no DNA test needed' to determine paternity.
Legal Repercussions and Family Fallout
Craig now faces a potentially lengthy prison sentence, with those convicted of sexual offences against children in Western Australia liable for terms of up to 20 years. Due to the severity of her crimes, she is also likely to be placed on the state's sex offender registry, which would mandate she inform police of her whereabouts indefinitely.
In a poignant development later on Tuesday, Craig's husband was seen dropping their older son off at her parents' home. Craig is currently subject to a strict court order that prohibits her from having unsupervised contact with anyone under 18, including her eldest child. Her newborn baby is the sole exception to this order. The teacher, who was on maternity leave during these events, will be sentenced in the District Court at a later date, with the matter next mentioned on March 27.
The geographical details of the abuse are particularly chilling. Twelve of the criminal incidents took place in the Mandurah suburb of Silver Sands, with a further three occurring nearby in Meadow Springs, highlighting how the predation infiltrated the victim's local environment.
