A large-scale search and rescue operation is currently underway at Syston Sailing Club in Leicestershire after a teenage boy was reportedly seen entering a lake.
Emergency Services Respond
Three police vehicles have been deployed to the scene on Fosse Way, with multiple officers stationed at the club's entrance. Three search crews are currently in boats across the sailing club's waters, which are part of the Roundhill Sailing Association grounds. An ambulance has also been spotted at the scene, according to reports from Leicestershire Live.
Police Statement
A Leicestershire Police spokesman confirmed: "Emergency services are currently carrying out searches in Syston to locate a teenage boy who was reported to have entered a lake."
"Police were called to Meynell Lake, in Fosse Way just after 1.30pm today (Thursday 25 June). Officers are currently in attendance with colleagues from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service. Searches are being carried out to locate the boy and officers are in contact with his next of kin."
