Third Arrest Over Synagogue Arson Attempt in London

A third person has been arrested in connection with an attempted arson attack at Finchley Reform Synagogue in north London, according to police. The 19-year-old man was detained in Portsmouth on suspicion of attempted arson, with Counter Terrorism Policing London leading the investigation.

The alleged incident occurred on 15 April and caused no damage to the building, with no injuries reported. A 38-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man were previously arrested on the same day and have been released on bail until July.

Commander Helen Flanagan of CTP London confirmed that progress is being made in investigations into various arson attacks and urged the public to remain vigilant. "We are making good progress in our investigations into a number of arson attacks," she said. "I would urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to police. The threat level remains severe."
