A professional wrestling promoter and performer from Queensland has appeared in court, facing serious charges of rape and assault following alleged incidents across the state. Elliott Stacey, who operates under the ring name 'Thirteen,' is the owner of Caboolture-based United Pro Wrestling (UPW) and has been a prominent figure at events throughout south-east Queensland, including appearances on the Sunshine Coast and in Brisbane.
Court Proceedings and Charges
Court documents reveal that Mr Stacey was formally charged on October 17, 2025, with three counts of rape and three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm. His most recent court appearance took place at the Caboolture Magistrates Court on January 19, 2026. The matters are scheduled for further mention on February 19, and he has not yet entered any pleas to the charges.
Fallout Within the Wrestling Community
The serious allegations have triggered a significant backlash within the local wrestling scene, with several performers publicly distancing themselves from United Pro Wrestling in the weeks following the charges. Wrestler 'Pogo the Clown' stated on social media that he had left the company 'quietly' in August and no longer considers it his home.
In a statement to News Corp, he elaborated: 'I don't see UPW as my home anymore, and I fully support Axe, Andre, Bones and anyone else that wishes to make their leave publicly or quietly.' He added that his departure was linked to 'circumstances' and emphasised it 'wasn't a decision I made lightly.'
Tag team performers Andre and Bones, known collectively as Good Boyz Inc., also announced they were parting ways with the promotion and relinquishing their championships. Their statement noted: 'Good Boyz Inc. have decided to part ways with United Pro Wrestling,' acknowledging that UPW was where they began their wrestling journey. It is important to clarify that none of these performers are alleged to be involved in Mr Stacey's criminal matters.
Impact on United Pro Wrestling Operations
The United Pro Wrestling website has been deactivated, and all upcoming events scheduled for Caboolture in Brisbane's north and on the Gold Coast have been cancelled. In December, UPW advertised the business for sale on social media, highlighting its large Sunshine Coast and Brisbane fan base along with a strong following on Facebook and Instagram. The organisation has reportedly been suspended and put on the market.
Background of the Accused
Mr Stacey was previously profiled in 2017 as a Sunshine Coast wrestler and trainer who conducted sessions from a Kunda Park studio and performed at local shows, including events at Aussie World. During that interview, he spoke about his childhood passion for wrestling and described how his on-screen persona evolved from a villain to a crowd favourite. The matter remains before the courts as legal proceedings continue.
