Staffordshire Police have launched an urgent investigation after a 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped at Berryhill Fields, a popular beauty spot in Stoke-on-Trent. Officers were called to the location, off Dividy Road, at around 8.15pm on Thursday, July 2, following the teenager's report that she had been raped by a man.
Details of the Incident
Berryhill Fields is a 156-acre local nature reserve owned and managed by Stoke-on-Trent City Council, situated between the housing estates of Bentilee and Berryhill and the town of Fenton. Described as the "green lungs" of Stoke-on-Trent, the reserve features several walking trails, with its main entrance off Dividy Road. The beauty spot, which had been under threat of development, was purchased by the local council earlier this year to prevent any construction on the land.
