According to reports, Pakistani police detained two brothers of the alleged suicide bomber and a woman in the city of Peshawar. These arrests come amid an ongoing investigation into the horrific incident, which has shocked the nation and drawn international condemnation.
Chaotic Scenes and Critical Injuries Reported
Television footage and social media images from the aftermath showed police and local residents frantically transporting the wounded to nearby hospitals for urgent medical care. Some of those wounded in the attack were reported to be in critical condition, highlighting the severity of the explosion. Hussain Shah, who was praying in the mosque courtyard at the time, recounted hearing a loud blast that immediately made him think "some big attack had happened."
"I then went into the mosque to utter chaos — many of the wounded were screaming and crying out for help," Shah said, painting a vivid picture of the immediate aftermath.
Islamic State Affiliate Claims Responsibility
