Thieves Steal £10k in Cards from Beeston Shop, Miss £1,200 Pokémon
Burglars raid trading card shop, miss valuable Pokémon card

In a brazen late-night raid, two burglars smashed their way into a popular trading card shop in Nottinghamshire, making off with an estimated £10,000 worth of valuable stock.

Shocking Break-In Caught on Camera

The incident occurred at Jakes Breaks in Beeston, where CCTV captured the shocking moment the intruders forced entry. The shop was left ransacked, with owner Chris Wilmott, 44, stating he was deeply shocked by the extent of the damage and theft.

High-Value Haul and a Costly Oversight

The thieves fled with a large quantity of trading cards, but in their haste, they committed a significant oversight. They missed a single Pokémon card valued at approximately £1,200. Furthermore, as they escaped, several of the stolen cards were dropped and are now believed to be ruined by water damage.

Police Investigation Underway

Nottinghamshire Police have launched a full investigation into the burglary. They are appealing for witnesses and examining all available evidence, including the CCTV footage, to identify and apprehend the suspects responsible for the costly crime.

Local business owners and the trading card community have expressed solidarity with Mr. Wilmott, highlighting the growing concern over thefts targeting niche collectible stores.
