Brazen shoplifter jailed after £3,800 luxury clothes theft spree at London station
Shoplifter jailed for £3,800 luxury clothes theft spree

This is the moment a brazen shoplifter waltzed into a shop and stole nearly £4,000 worth of luxury clothes in a spree of thefts. Zenith Lawrence, 24, targeted the same All Saints clothes shop four times in just two months in London St Pancras Station between December and January before he was jailed for 12 weeks.

A Calculated Crime Spree

Each time, he calmly walked from the scene after swiping the luxury items, which in total came to £3,800. But each time he was caught on CCTV camera. His crime spree began before Christmas, when he stole a jumper from the All Saints on December 4.

Emboldened by his apparent success, Lawrence decided to hit the very same shop three times in two days the following month. Wearing a hooded black coat, he went into the shop and stole two leather jackets worth £1,300 from the hanger on January 14, pushing past a man as he waltzed out.

Repeated Offences in Quick Succession

The next day, he turned up at the All Saints again, wearing his hooded coat and covering his face with a scarf. He stole two women's leather jackets and a bag on January 15. Brazenly, Lawrence decided to return that very same day and take three more men's leather jackets just two hours later.

Meanwhile, his reckless theft had been noticed by police, and on Saturday, January 17, plainclothes officers recognised him as the man behind the thefts at All Saints while on patrol at 3pm. They alerted uniformed colleagues and quickly detained Lawrence. They reviewed CCTV footage at the clothes shop and identified him for all four offences.

Swift Justice Served

Lawrence refused to answer any questions during a police interview following his arrest. He was left with no option but to plead guilty after the CCTV evidence and witness statements against him were presented to the Crown Prosecution Service.

He was charged and remanded to court and then jailed for 12 weeks after his hearing at Westminster Magistrates Court on Monday, January 19, two days after his arrest.

Police Determination to Tackle Theft

British Transport Police Inspector Ben Payne said: 'I'd like to recognise the awareness and proactivity of our officers in identifying Lawrence, then quickly working to link him to further offences. This fast-paced investigative work allowed us to arrest, charge, and bring him before the courts in just two days.'

'His imprisonment demonstrates our determination to tackle theft across the railway network. By using targeted patrols, intelligence and thorough investigative work, we are ensuring offenders are identified quickly and held accountable, sending a clear message that theft on the railway will not be tolerated.'

Zenith Lawrence, 24, was jailed for 12 weeks just two days after he was arrested for four separate thefts at the same clothes shop in the space of two months. He stole £3,800 worth of clothing. Lawrence was seen stealing clothes on CCTV from All Saints in London St Pancras International station between December last year and January. On this day, January 15, Lawrence stole clothes twice in the space of just two hours. Lawrence was seen pushing past a man on CCTV after brazenly swiping thousands of pounds worth of clothes.
