In a brazen shoplifting incident, a woman was caught on CCTV stealing over 300 Cadbury's Creme Eggs during a daylight theft spree. Leah Harding, 37, was captured on surveillance footage leaving the Barn Garden Centre with two trays of the Easter treats, totalling 64 boxes and hundreds of individual sweets, on 13 February.

The footage was later shared by Policing Peterborough, highlighting the moment Harding exited the premises with the stolen chocolate goods. This theft was part of a series of criminal activities committed by Harding in the local area.
Further Thefts Admitted
Following the Creme Egg heist, Harding went on to commit additional thefts. She stole £300 worth of spirits from another garden centre and multiple instances of alcohol and cheese from a Co-op store in Eye. These actions contributed to a pattern of shoplifting that led to her arrest on 18 March.
Upon her arrest, Harding admitted to five counts of theft from a shop, acknowledging her involvement in the various incidents. The court proceedings revealed the extent of her criminal behaviour, which spanned several weeks and targeted multiple retail locations.
Sentencing and Compensation
On 27 March, Harding was sentenced at court to 41 weeks in prison. In addition to the jail term, she was ordered to pay £882.26 in compensation to the affected stores. This sentence reflects the seriousness of her offences and the impact on local businesses.
