According to police reports, the pedestrians were struck by an out-of-control Audi SUV that was travelling at high speed prior to the collision. The vehicle ultimately slammed into a brick wall about 50 metres from the initial impact site, near a tram stop and pedestrian crossing, sustaining substantial damage in the process.
