A multi-agency rescue operation was launched on June 26 after a youngster fell from cliffs near Dunbar Leisure Pool in East Lothian. The incident was reported to HM Coastguard at approximately 4.30pm, prompting a swift response from multiple emergency services.
Emergency Response Details
Coastguard rescue teams from Dunbar and North Berwick, along with the Scottish Ambulance Service, an air ambulance, Police Scotland, and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, all attended the scene. The air ambulance transported the young person to hospital, though their condition remains unknown at this time.
A Coastguard spokesperson said: "At around 4.40pm yesterday afternoon (June 26) HM Coastguard received a report of a young person who had fallen from a cliff at Dunbar. Coastguard rescue teams from Dunbar and North Berwick, Scottish Ambulance Service, an air ambulance, Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service all attended. The person was taken to hospital by land ambulance. Please take care when enjoying our coastline and if you see somebody in difficulty or need help call 999 and ask for COASTGUARD."
Safety Reminder
The Coastguard has urged the public to exercise caution along coastlines and to dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard if they witness anyone in distress. Police Scotland has been approached for further comment but has not yet responded.
