Emmerdale has confirmed that Mackenzie Boyd is set to deliver a final threat to Dr Caitlin Todd after the truth of her assault on Charity Dingle is exposed. In upcoming scenes, Mack visits Dr Todd at her Sheffield hospital office and warns her that he will kill her if she ever touches Charity again.
Background of the Assault
As viewers will recall, Dr Caitlin Todd told Charity that she knows baby Leyla is not Sarah and Jacob's. Since then, her feud with Charity continued to grow as she demanded more money from her after learning about her share of the Woolpack pub. In a recent instalment, Todd went on to kiss a drunken Charity who swiftly rejected her before falling asleep on the sofa, thinking that Todd was about to leave.
Noticing she'd finished a bottle of wine, Dr Todd hovered over Charity and sneered: "Wake up. Drunk, disgusting w****! One too many? Bad, bad girl. You should know better than to lose control." It was then that the horrific assault aired as she could be heard unzipping Charity's trousers before she awoke and realised what was happening. Begging Todd to get off her, Charity sat upright as she tried to process what had just happened to her.
Police Involvement and Blackmail
Police arrived in the village to question Dr Todd who was packing up her car ready to move to Sheffield. After she was questioned over the allegations, Todd turned things back on Charity and said it was all consensual. Next week, Charity confesses to the police that Caitlin Todd was blackmailing her. DS Reid agrees to take a statement on the serious blackmail allegation but warns that it will be treated separately from the sexual assault charge, leaving Charity dismayed that it may have all been for nothing.
Reeling, Charity regrets revealing the truth, believing she has failed to protect Sarah and that Todd will still escape a sexual assault charge. Mack’s concerned when Charity insists on putting on a brave face and attending Leyla’s christening despite her troubles.
Mack's Visit to Dr Todd
With Mack struggling to process everything that's happened behind his back, Emmerdale have confirmed that he pays a visit to Dr Todd to deliver a threat. At the Christening after-party, Mack is overwhelmed by the secrecy and self-destructive tries to pick a fight with Kev. Kev does not retaliate but prompts Mack to explain his actions. Mack surprises himself by blurting out that Charity had cheated on him (with Ross). Kev then encourages Mack to get his revenge "in a clever way" on whoever has hurt his family.
Mack arrives at Dr. Todd’s office in a Sheffield hospital, ready for a face-down. Todd denies the claims, asserting their encounter was intimate but not assault, and attempts to convince Mack with persistent lies and a seemingly apologetic facade. Mack shuts down Todd, vowing to see her imprisoned for the rape of his wife. Todd remains smug when security arrives. Mack responds with a final threat, promising to kill Todd if she ever touches Charity again.
Charity's Fight for Justice
Meanwhile, Charity expresses doubt about getting justice for what Todd did, but with Serena's encouragement, she becomes adamant about continuing her fight for justice. The next day, the police arrive to speak to Mack. Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX and YouTube from 7am.
