Man Sues Parents and Kids After Park Attack in Nevada

A Nevada man who claims he was violently assaulted by a group of seven children while resting at a public park has now initiated legal proceedings against both the minors and their parents. Adrian Villegas-Solorio alleges the unprovoked attack occurred on January 18, 2024, at Mountain's Edge Regional Park in Clark County, leaving him with significant internal and external injuries that required surgical intervention.

Details of the Alleged Assault and Legal Action

According to court documents reviewed by the Daily Mail, Villegas-Solorio was seated on a park bench when the mob of children allegedly attacked him without any prior interaction or provocation. The complaint states the incident resulted in severe physical harm, necessitating jaw surgery for the victim.

Defendants Named in the Lawsuit

The lawsuit, filed in Clark County District Court, lists numerous defendants including the children and their parents. Those named are: Maddex, Marlena, and Migiel Carrera; Darrell Dumas Jr. and Sr.; Caelen Duren, Allie Hamilton, Alisi Langi, Suliasi Maasi, Victor McDaniel III, Stuward Perez-Brito, Olivia Robinson, Jatiana Smith, Olga Tagtmeier, and Roger and Thomas Wheeler.

Villegas-Solorio is seeking $15,000 in damages through this legal action. The inclusion of parents as defendants is permitted under Nevada state law, which holds guardians liable for their juvenile children's acts of willful misconduct that cause injury to others.

County Also Named as Defendant

Clark County has additionally been listed as a defendant in the lawsuit. Villegas-Solorio contends the county failed in its duty to maintain adequate safety measures at the public park, thereby failing to protect visitors from harm.

In response to media inquiries, county representatives stated they "work diligently to maintain the safety of our parks" but declined to comment specifically on the pending litigation. The Daily Mail has also reached out to Villegas-Solorio's legal representative, the parents involved, and local law enforcement for further statements.

Local Crime Context

The park where the alleged assault occurred is situated near Enterprise, Nevada. According to statistics from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Enterprise has recorded 64 assault incidents so far this year, resulting in eighteen arrests.

Despite this figure, overall assault rates in the area have decreased by nearly 30 percent compared to the same period last year, indicating some improvement in local crime statistics. The case highlights ongoing concerns about public safety in recreational spaces and the legal responsibilities of parents for their children's actions.
