A 19-year-old actress, Gamze Saklı, was among three young people killed in a horrific multi-vehicle crash on the Black Sea Coastal Road in Çayeli, Turkey. The pile-up occurred around 11pm on Tuesday, June 23, involving two cars and a minibus. After the collision, two vehicles erupted into flames, trapping some passengers inside.
Victims and Injuries
Gamze Saklı was reportedly thrown from the vehicle onto the road in the Limanköy area and died at the scene. The other victims were Selinay Saral, 22, and Nilay Bilgin, 23. At least four others were injured, three seriously, and were taken to a hospital in Rize for treatment. The three victims were close friends, according to reports.
Cause of the Crash
The collision occurred after one driver lost control, struck a lamppost on the central reservation, and veered into the opposite lane, colliding head-on with a second car. That car was then rear-ended by the minibus, as reported by NeedToKnow. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
Gamze Saklı's Acting Career
Gamze was an actor who recently had a supporting role in the 2025 TV series "Gözleri Karadeniz," a fictional drama set in Turkey's Black Sea region about a family power struggle and romance. She was laid to rest in her hometown of Sırt village, Çayeli, on June 24. A friend posted online: "Rest in peace, beautiful girl. May your soul rest in light."
