Vogue Williams has revealed she tracked down an internet troll who sent her “awful stuff” and informed the troll’s family, in a savage act of payback. The Irish model and podcaster, who boasts 1.2 million Instagram followers, is no stranger to the downsides of celebrity life, hosting three podcasts and appearing on shows such as Bear Grylls: Mission Survive and I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!.
Tracking Down the Troll
Speaking to The Mail’s Harriet Kean, Williams recounted a separate incident from a previous online encounter in February. “She would mail me this awful stuff, so I found her second name because she was using her own account, and emailed some of her family, and said, ‘This is what she has been sending me’,” Williams said. The troll was using her own account, making it easier for Williams to identify her.
Previous Bizarre Encounter
In February, Williams recalled a “bizarre” online encounter on her podcast Vogue and Amber. An individual asked her when she was “going to get rid of that wart on your face,” referring to her mole. Williams responded by tagging the person in a post. “And I was like, ‘Anyone who p****s me off now, if you’re brave enough and bold enough to send a message to somebody like that, I’m going to put it out there’,” she said.
She added: “And so I put it up on my page and I tagged the person and I said, ‘Oh, I’d love to see what this person looks like. They must be so perfect’. And then in comes everybody sending me pictures of her, all this kind of stuff.”
Lesson Learned
Williams replied to the person, saying she would remove the mole when they started “making decent art.” The troll later apologised, claiming they “didn’t mean to insult” her. Williams responded that they did it “specifically to insult” her. However, after the troll said people had been messaging them “being horrible,” Williams removed the post. Summing up, the Fade Street star explained she didn’t want the person to be trolled “any more than she had,” adding that you have to teach a “little bit of a lesson.”
