Netflix's new South Korean action thriller Agent Kim Reactivated has taken the streaming platform by storm, with fans eagerly awaiting more episodes after its gripping premiere. The series, starring So Ji-sub as the titular Agent Kim, is already climbing the UK Top 10 chart.
How Many Episodes in Agent Kim Reactivated?
The entire series consists of 10 episodes, with two episodes airing each week on Fridays and Saturdays. The final two episodes are scheduled to drop on July 24 and 25. This weekly release schedule is unusual for Netflix, which typically releases all episodes at once for most shows.
The series premiered on SBS TV on June 26 and is also streaming on Netflix. So far, only two episodes have been released, but viewership figures are already impressive: 1.9 million viewers watched episode one, and 3.2 million watched episode two.
Plot and Reception
Based on the webtoon Manager Kim, the series follows Kim Do-hyeon, a former North-South Korean covert operative who retired to fulfill his late wife's wishes. When his daughter Min-ji is kidnapped, Kim jumps back into action, drawing the attention of the National Special Missions Bureau. As the story unfolds, Kim encounters two other former operatives: Seong Han-su (Choi Dae-hoon) and Park Jin-cheol (Yoon Kyung-ho). Together, they face opposition from a construction executive and a North Korean agent.
Fans have taken to IMDb reviews to share their thoughts. One viewer said: "One of the most brutal k-dramas. Emotional as well. I have watched a lot of Action-thriller films and series from Korea, most of them were the same. Thrilling, yes, but not emotional in a way that makes my heartbeat escalated. Yet this k-drama gave me that feeling." Another added: "I think the first episode was already superbly done, it was so much fun to finally watch it, and I'm already looking forward to the next episodes of the series." A third commented: "Agent Kim Reactivated has already pulled me in completely. The story starts on a strong note, setting up an intriguing plot with excellent pacing, suspense, and enough mystery to keep you wanting the next episode immediately."
Upcoming Episodes
The huge jump in viewership from episode one to episode two is expected to continue as fans eagerly await the next two episodes on July 3 and 4. With a total of 10 episodes, the series promises to deliver a thrilling ride for action and K-drama fans alike.
