FCDO Issues Travel Warnings for 21 Countries on ‘Do Not Travel’ List

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has updated its travel advisories, warning against all or all but essential travel to parts of 21 countries. The list includes destinations across Europe, Africa, Asia and South America, where political conflicts, natural disasters and safety concerns pose significant risks.

Travellers are urged to check three things before departure: a valid passport, valid travel insurance, and the safety of their destination according to FCDO advice. Ignoring these warnings can invalidate travel insurance and leave British nationals without consular support in emergencies.

Of 226 countries and territories with FCDO travel advice pages, 74 currently have no-go zones. The FCDO emphasises that the decision to travel is personal, but only individuals can assess their own circumstances against the risks outlined.
