Paris Jackson, the only daughter of the late Michael Jackson, took her fans' concerns seriously after they noticed something unusual about her neck. The 28-year-old singer, who has 9.1 million Instagram followers, 'freaked out' when a comment asking what was 'wrong' with her neck garnered nearly 500 likes. She promptly arranged an ultrasound of her throat and lymph nodes, despite recent blood work being normal.
Health Update
After undergoing tests, Jackson shared the results with her followers. 'My thyroid's normal. My lymph nodes are normal. Like, everything's f***ing normal,' the 'Zombies in Love' singer stated. She reviewed past videos and realized her 'neck just does weird s*** when I talk.' However, an ear, nose, and throat specialist found only slight redness on her vocal cords, with no calluses from singing. Jackson explained that the appearance of her neck is due to exercising those muscles from singing for so long, which is common among singers but more noticeable in her because she is skinny.
Upcoming Music and Performances
Jackson wanted to ensure her voice was fine for her scheduled performance at BottleRock Napa Valley this Saturday. She is also promoting her second studio album, 'Teenage Drama,' which releases this Friday. The singer, who has 174,228 monthly listeners on Spotify, recently scored a 'massive win' in her legal battle with her father's estate executors, John Branca and John McClain. A judge ordered them to return $625,000 in bonuses deemed extraneous.
Legal Battle and Father's Estate
Jackson has been in a lengthy legal dispute with Branca and McClain, accusing them of making 'many missteps' and pocketing $148.2 million in bonuses through 2021. Branca served as producer of the Michael biopic, in which his character is lionized, leading Jackson to distance herself. The film grossed $703.9 million globally. Jackson previously criticized the biopic for inaccuracies and lies, despite it starring her cousin Jaafar and being executive produced by her brother Prince.
Jackson, whose mother is Debbie Rowe, was 11 when her father died in 2009 from acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication. Court filings indicate she has received $65 million from her father's $2 billion estate. Her upcoming projects include a documentary, horror thriller, comedy, drama, and more.
