Jeremy Clarkson Returns to ITV with Two New Millionaire Series After Cancer Remission
Jeremy Clarkson Returns to ITV with Two New Millionaire Shows

Jeremy Clarkson is returning to ITV with two new series of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? and Millionaire Hot Seat, the network confirmed. The announcement comes one week after the 66-year-old television personality revealed he is in remission from prostate cancer.

New Episodes Ordered

ITV has recommissioned both programmes hosted by the Clarkson's Farm star. A total of 20 new episodes of the rapid-fire spin-off Millionaire Hot Seat will be produced, alongside 15 new instalments of the original flagship quiz show.

The new commission follows the successful debut of Millionaire Hot Seat earlier this year. The format introduces a high-stakes element where participants compete in a rapid queue system, with players required to respond swiftly or face being substituted by the next contender.

According to ITV, Millionaire Hot Seat ranked as the third most-viewed entertainment programme on ITVX this year, trailing only Britain's Got Talent and The Masked Singer.

Recording and Transmission

The fresh episodes of both shows will be recorded later this year for transmission on ITV and streaming via ITVX. The opening episode of the current series, which featured a million-pound winner, became the highest-rated Millionaire episode of the year so far.

Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment, Reality and Daytime Commissioning at ITV, said: "The Millionaire brand continues to deliver for ITV audiences and Millionaire Hot Seat has brought an exciting new energy to the format. The combination of Jeremy Clarkson's hosting and the high-pressure gameplay has proved a winning formula, so we're delighted to be bringing both Millionaire Hot Seat and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? back for more episodes."

Production Details

The shows are produced by Belfast-based Stellify Media, the Sony Pictures Television-backed independent production company behind the franchise.

Cancer Update

The television announcement follows closely after Clarkson's health update. During a recent instalment of Clarkson's Farm, he disclosed he had been diagnosed with an "aggressive" form of prostate cancer in 2025. Clarkson told the Sunday Times that subsequent testing two months previously had shown no trace of cancer and that he is now officially in remission.

"I am without a doubt, officially, the world's luckiest man," he told the publication. "It was an aggressive type of cancer. It could have spread, it could have gone into the pancreas, it could have gone anywhere, and that would have been trouble."

Millionaire Hot Seat and Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? are available on ITVX.
