Dame Joan Collins, 92, Shines at Golden Globes Brunch as 2026 Nominations Revealed
Joan Collins Glams Up for Golden Globes Brunch

Dame Joan Collins proved her timeless glamour is undimmed as she stepped out with her husband Percy Gibson for a pre-awards brunch in Los Angeles. The event, held on Saturday at The West Hollywood EDITION, was hosted by The Cut and served as a glittering precursor to the 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards.

A Timeless Style Icon Arrives

The legendary actress, 92, looked elegant in a cropped polka dot jacket, a nod to her signature maximalist 1980s style. She paired the striking piece with a long, finely knitted dress and completed her outfit with a pair of classic stiletto heels. Her husband, Percy Gibson, 61, cut a smart figure in a classic black suit, white shirt, and patent shoes. The couple were seen mingling with fellow guests, including Paris Jackson, who opted for a burgundy crop top and matching skirt.

The brunch was one of many celebrations marking the official kick-off of the 2026 awards season. Other notable attendees included Lisa Ann Walter, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Kumail Nanjiani, all showcasing their distinctive red-carpet style.

The 2026 Golden Globe Nominees Unveiled

As the stars celebrated, the full list of nominees for the upcoming ceremony was confirmed. The epic film One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, leads the pack with an impressive nine nominations. These include nods for Best Picture in the Musical or Comedy category, Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, and acting recognition for DiCaprio, Benicio del Toro, and Sean Penn.

However, the film faces stiff competition. Joachim Trier’s Norwegian family drama Sentimental Value scored eight nominations, while Ryan Coogler’s Sinners garnered seven. In a significant surprise, the much-anticipated sequel Wicked: For Good was snubbed in the Best Musical or Comedy category, though its stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande received acting nominations.

Other notable omissions included Sydney Sweeney for Christy and Kathryn Bigelow’s Netflix thriller A House of Dynamite, which failed to secure a single nomination.

Television Titans and British Hopefuls

In the television categories, Netflix's hit series Adolescence built on its Emmy success, earning five nominations. These included acting nods for its stars Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, and 16-year-old Owen Cooper, alongside a surprise selection for Ashley Walters. The show will compete in the Best Limited Series category.

The White Lotus narrowly beat this total, however, securing six nominations largely thanks to its all-star cast. British talent is well-represented across the board. Irish actor Paul Mescal is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for Hamnet, while Jessie Buckley is a front-runner for Best Actress in a Drama for the same film. Dame Helen Mirren has already been announced as the recipient of the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement.

The first major ceremony of the awards season will honour the best in film, television, and, for the first time, podcasts across 28 categories. The 83rd Golden Globe Awards will be presented on January 11.
